Deputy Chief of HFD Station 37 Patrick Davis says firefighters were called at approximately 6:24 p.m. and arrived to smoke and fire coming from one of the buildings. The fire would ultimately spread to three different buildings before it was brought under control at 7:33 p.m.

Approximately 100 firefighters responded to the scene. No apartment residents were injured, but a firefighter was transported to Memorial Herman Hospital after receiving a minor injury.

Davis says the affected units were all vacant and had no power. Eight to 10 units have fire damage while another 8-10 have smoke and water damage.

Arson investigators are currently looking to determine the cause of the fire.
